Metamorphosis in Motion: Celebrating THREADS 2025
The runway came alive at George Brown College’s Casa Loma Campus as graduating design students unveiled THREADS 2025: Metamorphosis. As the cornerstone of the college’s annual “Day of Fashion,” this year’s showcase was a breathtaking celebration of evolution, style revolutions, and the raw creative power of the next generation of industry innovators.
The theme, Metamorphosis, perfectly captured the journey of the student designers. Over months of intense preparation, these emerging talents transformed raw concepts and textiles into stunning structural realities. The event featured 150 unique outfits crafted by 40 graduating designers from the School of Fashion & Jewellery, each pushing the boundaries of contemporary style, sustainability, and technical construction.
Attendees were treated to a diverse display of design philosophies. The runway flowed seamlessly from avant-garde, sculptural silhouettes to deeply personal streetwear collections. Many students utilized innovative, eco-conscious materials, proving that the future of fashion in Toronto is not only visually striking but socially responsible.
Beyond the high-energy runway show, THREADS 2025 offered a comprehensive look at the student experience. The broader Day of Fashion event included the Studio portfolio showcase, allowing industry professionals to review the students’ technical skills up close. It also hosted FashionWorks, a vital networking hub connecting graduates directly with major Canadian fashion employers, capping off the evening with well-deserved student awards.
