Startup Fashion Week 2026 in Toronto marked a highly innovative chapter for the world’s only fashion week dedicated entirely to early-stage apparel businesses. Held from April 13 to 17, 2026, the event was founded by Jodi Goodfellow and focused directly on bridging the critical gaps between style, business, and modern technology.
This year’s edition stood out by exploring a multi-sensory theme called “In Bloom,” introducing a groundbreaking Fashion x Fragrance collaboration. Organizers partnered with Ratelier—a local creative café, gallery, and fragrance lab—allowing each runway designer to craft a signature scent tailored specifically to their clothing line. During the final showcase, these unique scents were released live to the audience, synchronized with moving visual projections and custom soundscapes.
The week featured a carefully curated schedule designed to prepare participants for the market:
  • April 14: The Media Launch and Opening Party kicked off at Escobar.
  • April 15: The Business of Fashion Conference took place at Archeo in the Distillery District, offering panels on business growth, online branding, and digital imagery.
  • April 17: The final Runway Show at the Illuminarium served as the grand finale.

Presented by Joey Cartz, the runway spotlighted nine innovative designers from across Canada. Featured brands included Rue de Mort, Lure Apparel, EXERGONIC, Soffio di Como, 22 Lifestyle, CarryOne, bad kitty kimono, and Miedor Eporwei Bridal. To ensure a highly professional execution, SFW handled intense in-house model casting calls, attracting over 150 models to build an inclusive and cohesive production.
By moving beyond traditional runway formats, Startup Fashion Week 2026 solidified Toronto’s role as an authentic, egos-free ecosystem for fresh talent seeking essential media exposure, consumer sales, and professional networks.
